On our way! 83/12

We left Clinton River Yacht Club on Club Island in Middle Channel of St. Clair River at 10:30am with our Great Loop burgee flying. We are on our way!!

Calm and sunny with waves less than 1 foot. Got windier as we went North. Stopped for gas and pump out at Port Huron. Gosh, I love that town. People are so nice and the community is lovely. But we only stayed 30 minutes then on to Lake Huron.

It got much windier as we ventured further North so we stopped in Port Sanilac for the evening. We already did one load of laundry. Rusty was a real monster today. He ate the lovely present Karen and Jim Sigman gave us on the way out - Dirt with Gummy Gaters. He even ate the gummy gaters!! What a bad doggy!! He seems to be re-energized from the fresh air or something. He is hilarious.

As we pulled into the municiple marina in Sanilac, we realized we have been here before! In 2005 we visited here with Paul and Maeo Bates and their dog Steinway. Steinway is a little nuerotic about his ball. He won't let anyone play with it and he didn't play with any dogs except Rusty. Well this particular trip, Rusty had a lot of energy (he was only 5) and we played with the ball and the stick in the water for hours. One particular time we threw the ball and Rusty raced to get it pretty far into the water. We called, "get the ball" and he sure did. He got his big jaws around a metal mooring bouy and pulled and pulled to bring it back to me! What a guy!!

As expected, Rusty found the water right away. He seems to remember exactly where he can get in the water in these places and he sure did, right away!!

Tomorrow, laundry and boat cleaning. We will get the bikes down and find this historical society fair going on tomorrow. YEAH!!

FYI, for those wondering how the work is going, I have a client working on a new resume and search strategy. It seems to be ok to work while on the boat although the time with the computer is significantly reduced.
