Jim and Karen Sigman were passing through taking the long
way to the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show!! Quick like a bunny we cleaned the boat.
We needed a deep cleaning after traveling for a few days. With the boat shiny
and clean inside and out, we welcomed Jim and Karen for the evening!!
We laughed and talked and laughed some more! Such a lovely
surprise. It was great to catch up on gossip about friends we haven’t seen for
a while. The marina is still crazy and most of the boats are now out of the
water.
They brought a great bottle of wine they picked up at a
recent wine tasting – an Italian white wine with a neat insulating bag that we
will use again. We didn’t open it that night for some reason but instead shared
it with the group to celebrate the rendezvous.
Since Jim and Karen are meeting the Ron and Julie Feldner at
the boat show we asked them to keep an eye open for some little things we need,
especially the LED lights for the salon.
We wanted to show off Jim and Karen to our new friends – see
having friends visit is like Christmas – you want to share the magic with
everyone!! So we all went to dinner. Jim and Karen chatted away with Michael
and Judy and Dick and Deanna and a bunch of others over a fried seafood buffet.
Little did we know this would be the best meal of the week in more ways than
one! After dinner we went back to the boat and talked some more.
Jim and Karen are wandering down to south Florida taking
their time. They had a room in a hotel right across the street from the
Florence AL marina we left that morning. We had lots of advice about things to
see. They already visited Monmouth Caves so we suggested a few places we missed
in the Florence/Muscle Shoals area. They have to visit the Coon Dog Cemetery.
Someone we know has to go there if we can’t. And this cool hamburger restaurant
Rattlesnake where they take you from the parking lot to the cave by wagon so
you can eat a great hamburger in the restaurant in the cave. Evidently this is
pretty common. They visited a ballroom and speakeasy built into a cave in
Kentucky so Rattlesnake would continue the cave/food theme.
Thank you for stopping, Karen and Jim!!
We would love to have other folks visit if you are in the
neighborhood or can find yourself in the neighborhood. Just drop us a text,
email or phone call. The front cabin is always made up just waiting for you to
arrive!!
